Custom Builders Council

Purpose:  

Purpose of the council is to provide a forum for HBCA and its custom home builders to team together to discuss emerging or existing challenges unique to their business.  Issues may relate to local, state, or national government policies/laws, supply chain, workforce, or any other issue a member would like to address.  This council is designed to provide collective insight so that either the council and or the association can address issues critical to this field.  There will be private luncheons held quarterly.

General Contractors Council

Purpose:  

Purpose of the council is to provide a forum for HBCA and its mid to large scale general contractors to team together to discuss emerging or existing challenges unique to their business.  Issues may relate to local, state, or national government policies/laws, supply chain, workforce, or any other issue a member would like to address.  This council is designed to provide collective insight so that either the council and or the association can address issues critical to this field.  There will be private luncheons held quarterly.

Government Affairs Committee

HBCA’s Government Affairs Committee forges relationships with state and local officials to foster greater mutual understanding, minimize excessive regulation that unnecessarily burdens residential and commercial development, and strives to safeguard our community’s economic development and natural resources. 

 

 

The Governmental Affairs Committee participates as part of the FHBA Government Affairs team to review and discuss the FHBA’s legislative priorities and recommends to HBCA’s Board of Directors, candidates for endorsement.

 

Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday morning of each month at the HBCA.

Golf Tournament Committee

Purpose:  

Purpose of this committee is to solicit sponsorships and help facilitate the successful hosting of the most popular golf tournament on Florida’s Space Coast.  The Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 12, 2023.    Committee meetings will begin in January.

Hall of Fame Selection Committee

Purpose:  

The HBCA Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee is charged with the vital task of continuing to be sure that new enshrinees are the finest the association has produced.

 

 

The Committee consists of current members, selected by the President and affirmed by the Board of Directors.  All appointments are open-ended and approved annually Board of Directors. The Selection Committee meets annually beginning in May to elect new members. There is no minimum number for any class of enshrinees, but the maximum is number is four.  Every candidate is carefully scrutinized by the committee and must receive a majority vote of the committee member before they can be elected.

 

Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held December 7, 2023.  The HOF Selection Committee meets as needed during the summer months.

Holiday Party Committee

Purpose of this committee is to solicit sponsorships and help facilitate the successful hosting of the 2023 HBCA Hall of Fame Induction, Awards Ceremony and Holiday Party.  The Holiday Party is scheduled for December 7, 2023.    Committee meetings will begin in October.

Parade of Homes Committee

The Parade of Homes is a scattered-site tour of new homes across the Space Coast.  Custom and Production Home Builders alike, open their homes for the community at large to tour. Details are included in a printed Home Buyers Guide.

Committee members are responsible for the promotion of the event to builders and for the solicitation of sponsorships as well as the coordination of the annual Awards Banquet.

The 2023 Parade of Homes will take place October 6-15, 2023.  Committee meetings will begin in June.

Parade of Homes Realtor Preview Committee

In advance of the Parade of Homes, the Space Coast HBCA hosts a Realtor Preview, affording Brevard County’s realtors the opportunity to learn first-hand from the builders about the homes in the upcoming Parade.

Committee members are responsible for soliciting sponsorships, promoting the event to realtors, as well as helping to facilitate a successful event.

The 2023 Realtor Preview will take place on October 4, 2023.  Committee meetings begin in late August.

Purpose:  

Purpose of the council is to provide a forum for HBCA and its production home builders to team together to discuss emerging or existing challenges unique to their business.  Issues may relate to local, state, or national government policies/laws, supply chain, workforce, or any other issue a member would like to address.  This council is designed to provide collective insight so that either the council and or the association can address issues critical to this field.  There will be private luncheons held quarterly.

Spring Home Showcase Committee

Purpose:  

A spring precursor to the Parade of Homes Realtor Preview, this event focuses on bringing custom and production home builders together with Brevard County’s realtors.  This “Speed Dating” style event, provides builders the opportunity to share and answer questions about their homes.

 

The Spring Home Showcase is scheduled for February 15, 2023.  Committee meetings will begin in January.

Purpose:
